“Hrvatski glazbeni zavod (Croatian musical institute)” is the oldest musical institution in Zagreb and one of the most important concert halls in Croatia.

It was founded in 1827 and it is known for its outstandingly rich acoustics. The building itself is a protected cultural heritage of Croatia and we’re really proud and happy that we will be able to enjoy some beautiful moments of tango in it!

Novinarski dom

The Adventango Thursday evening milonga venue will be “Novinarski dom (Journalist’s home)”, one of the pearls of Croatian architecture. It was designed by one of the most famous Croatian architects – Bruno Bauer, and built back in 1929.

The building itself is a protected cultural heritage of Croatia, it’s located in Zagreb city center, and we can’t wait to enjoy some moments of pure tango joy in it!

How to reach Zagreb?

Plane

An excellent way to reach Zagreb is by plane! The new Zagreb airport is served by low cost and regular airlines. Make sure you book your tickets early to enjoy special prices for Zagreb during Advent!

Bus

Many international bus lines connect the capital of Croatia to destinations across Europe. Check the Zagreb Bus Terminal website www.akz.hr for more information.

Bonus: during the period from 01 December 2019 to 7 January 2019 public transport is free throughout the city of Zagreb during every weekend, from Friday at 12:00 until Sunday 24:00.

Train

Although Zagreb cannot boast of excellent train connections, if you are coming from Ljubljana or Belgrade, taking the train might be a comfortable option for you. For these, and other possibilities, please check www.hzzp.hr.

Car

Traveling to Zagreb by car is convenient and easy, as the city is connected to the rest of Europe via a network of well-maintained highways. You will not need a car while attending AdvenTango – all of the venues are centrally located, close to the pedestrian-only zones of the city. It might be more convenient to leave your car in one of the several public garages (http://www.zagrebparking.hr/default.aspx?id=57) that serve the city center, and walk or use public transportation (www.zet.hr) to get around.
